Spikenard Candles
Spikenard, the costly fragrant oil that comes from the rare spikenard plant, was used by Mary of Bethany to anoint the head and feet of the Messiah two days before His death. It speaks of the Bride’s extravagant adoration of and intimacy with the Bridegroom, in total abandonment, without regard to cost. Mark 14:3 “…And while he was at Bethany in the house of Simon… a woman came with an alabaster flask of ointment of pure nard, very costly, and she broke the flask and poured it over his head.”
