TzitTzit or fringes were commanded to be worn on the corners of the garment as a visual reminder to Benei
Yisrael (the children of Israel) to obey the commands and instructions given by the
Holy One of Israel.
Again the Lord spoke to Moshe [Moses,] saying, “Speak to the
children of Israel:
Tell them to make tassels [tzittzit] on the corners [kanaph] of their garments throughout
their generations, and to put a blue thread in the tassels [tzittzit] of the corners
[kanaph]. (Numbers 15:37-38)
The hebrew word for "corners" is very interesting. It is the
word kanaph and isthe same word for "wings" in the following verse. But to you who fear My name, The Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings. (Malachi 4:2)
The Greek word for "fringe" or "tassel" is kraspedon and is often translated as the border, hem or fringe of a garment.
And wherever He [The Messiah] came, in villages,
cities, or countryside, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and
implored Him that they might touch even the fringe [tzittzit] of his garment. And as many as
