Holy Shroud Fragrance

We are excited to offer a brand new fragrant oil inspired by the iconic Shroud of Turin. Over the past 17 years, we have been researching and studying the Holy Shroud, which many believe to be the actual burial cloth of Jesus. Our first encounter with the shroud occurred during a visit to the Garden of Gethsemane in Jerusalem in 2005. We were invited to view a full-length replica of one of the first photographed images of the Shroud taken in 1898 by Secondo Pia which was on private display within the Garden compound.

Since that viewing, we have been seeking God's direction on the possibility of producing a fragrance associated with this awe-inspiring ancient linen cloth. Through in-depth study of first century burial rites along with the Resurrection account as told in the Gospels, we learned that various spices, resins and oils, such as myrrh, nard and aloes, were used to prepare a body for burial. Then with the leading of the Holy Spirit, we began to formulate a fragrance using some of those same spices and oils which may well have been on the linen burial cloth of Jesus.

The Holy Shroud of Turin, the most analyzed and studied artifact in history, is a 14-ft. linen burial cloth that bears the image of a crucified man. Millions of people believe it is the authentic burial cloth of Jesus Christ of Nazareth which was miraculously imprinted with His likeness at the moment of His resurrection.

First century Jewish burial rites included preparing a body with fragrant resins & spices, oils of nard, myrrh and aloes. The gospel of John records: "Nicodemus, who had previously come to Jesus at night, also brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about 75 pounds. So they took the body of Jesus and wrapped it in linen cloths with the spices, according to the Jewish burial custom" (John 19:39-40).

The Holy Shroud Fragrance™ is a blend of pure olive oil from the Galilee region of the Holy Land and a special gifted oil from the 2000-year-old trees in the Garden of Gethsemane, the very garden where Jesus prayed. Infused with some of the ancient burial fragrances mentioned in the gospel accounts of the resurrection, it symbolically represents the scents that would have been present on the linen burial cloth of Jesus.
